You love your home. The kitchen is the only thing holding it back.

You've thought about it for years. Maybe you've gotten a quote or two. And every time, the same story: tens of thousands of dollars, three to four months of construction, dust everywhere, no kitchen for the holidays, and a contractor you'll have to chase down for updates.

So you keep waiting. Keep cooking around cabinets you don't love. Keep telling yourself you'll get to it eventually. There's a better way — and most homeowners have never heard of it.

The kitchen you want. Built into the home you already love.

Custom Kitchen Renewal replaces the parts of your kitchen you actually see — the cabinet doors, the drawer fronts, the visible surfaces — while keeping the structural cabinetry that's already working. The result is a kitchen that looks, feels, and functions like a brand-new custom build, in a fraction of the time, at a fraction of the cost, and without tearing your home apart to get there.

When it's done well, no one can tell it started as your existing kitchen. They just know it's beautiful.

Less Disruption

Your home stays livable. No demolition. No months without a kitchen.

Smarter Investment

You're paying for what you'll actually see and touch — not to replace cabinet boxes that are perfectly good.

Fully Custom

Every door, drawer front, and finish is built specifically for your kitchen, in our Spring Hill shop.

Not all cabinet renewal is the same. Here's what makes ours different.

A lot of companies that advertise "kitchen refacing" are actually offering one of two things: a quick coat of paint over your existing doors, or a thin laminate skin glued onto the original wood. Both look fine for a year or two. Then they don't.

That's not what we do.

At BMD Interior Woodworking, every Custom Kitchen Renewal starts from scratch in our shop. We build brand-new cabinet doors and drawer fronts — custom-sized, custom-finished, made from the species of wood you choose — and install them in place of the originals. You're not getting a cover-up. You're getting genuine custom cabinetry, built to millwork standards by a craftsman with 25+ years in the trade.

The cabinet boxes stay. Everything you see and touch is new.

How it works, from first call to final reveal.

01

The Consultation

You'll meet with Ben, the owner and lead craftsman. He'll measure your kitchen, listen to what you're after, and walk you through what Custom Kitchen Renewal can (and can't) do for your space. The $129 consultation fee is credited back to your project if you move forward.

02

The Design

We'll bring you wood samples, finish options, and hardware choices, then build a clear, detailed scope so you know exactly what you're getting and what it costs. No surprises, no upsells, no pressure.

03

The Build

Your new doors, drawer fronts, and accents are built in our Spring Hill shop. While we're building, your kitchen stays fully usable.

04

The Install

When the new pieces are ready, our installation team handles the swap quickly and cleanly. Most kitchens are transformed in days — not the months a full remodel demands.

The Craftsman

Built by a craftsman who's been doing this for 25 years.

Ben May started in cabinet shops and architectural millwork before most cabinet refacing companies existed. He's spent more than two decades building libraries, kitchens, and built-ins for clients who care about how things are made — not just how they look on day one.

BMD Interior Woodworking has been his shop since 2015. Every project that leaves our doors has his name on it, and every kitchen we renew is held to the same standard as the high-end custom cabinetry that built our reputation.

That's the difference. We're not a cabinet refacing franchise running a play. We're a custom woodworking shop, and Custom Kitchen Renewal is that same craftsmanship applied to the kitchen you already have — because the work is the same work.

What homeowners are saying.

"We hired Ben to help us create a custom looking kitchen while keeping our peripheral kitchen cabinets intact. His workmanship and creativity were so amazing that we asked him to create a paneled library and custom master suite closets/vanities. Ben's attention to detail and ownership of his work is unmatched, in our opinion."

"I feel like my remodel came from the pages of a Pinterest board. Ben was so easy to work with and so incredibly helpful. He answered my questions anytime and was very good about getting me what I wanted within my budget. I feel like his work has completely elevated my house."

Amanda G.

Franklin, TN

"Quite a 'WOW' factor when you walk into our house. Kept to his promised schedule."

Ready to see what your kitchen could be?

Every project starts with a consultation in your home. Ben will measure your space, talk through what you're hoping for, and give you an honest answer on whether Custom Kitchen Renewal is the right fit.

The consultation is $129. If you move forward with the project, that fee is credited back in full — so the only homeowners who pay for it are the ones we don't end up working with. That's intentional. It keeps our calendar focused on serious projects, which is why we're able to give every client the attention they deserve.

We're typically booked 8–9 weeks out. The sooner you reach out, the sooner you're on the schedule.

Common questions.

Painting simply changes the color of your existing doors and drawer fronts. Our process goes much further. We replace the parts of the kitchen that experience the most wear with newly built custom doors and drawer fronts, then professionally refinish and transform the visible surfaces using cabinet grade sprayed finishes and detailed prep work. The result feels far more like a new kitchen than a repaint because, where it matters most, it is.

Most of the fabrication and preparation work happens off site before installation ever begins. That means your kitchen remains functional for the majority of the process, and the final installation is typically completed in a matter of days rather than weeks or months. Exact timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project.

Most Custom Kitchen Renewal projects fall between $8,000 and $12,000 — compared to $25,000 or more for a full remodel — depending on kitchen size, door style, finish selection, and the amount of custom modification involved. Every kitchen is different, so after your consultation we provide a clear fixed quote with a detailed scope of work and no hidden costs or vague allowances.

Because thoughtful planning takes real time. The consultation includes measuring, evaluating the existing cabinetry, discussing design direction, and preparing a detailed project quote tailored specifically to your home. The $129 consultation fee is fully credited back toward your project if you move forward with BMD.

Kitchens are the primary focus of BMD, but our work extends into many other forms of custom interior millwork as well. We also build and work on libraries, built ins, vanities, closets, wall details, fireplace surrounds, and other custom woodworking projects throughout the home. If you have a larger project in mind, feel free to reach out and start the conversation.
